The train arrived into Chicago Union Station at around 9am, I must admit, that overnight train ride was exhausting and I didn't really sleep too well. However, to make the most out of my time in this amazing city, I made my way to my Air bnb which was about a 20 minute bus ride out of the city center to West Cermak Road. The apartment stayed in was beautiful and I was able to keep it to myself for the majority of the time I was staying in Chicago, other than one night where there was one other guest but they weren't in the apartment wheneveer I was there.
As soon as I dropped my bags off, I headed back into downtown Chicago for my first day of sight seeing.
Chicago Skydeck

The first thing on my to do list was the Willis Tower, also famously known as the Chicago Skydeck Tower, the tallest observation tower in the entire United States and currently stands as the 17th tallest building in the world standing at 1353feet. Now, considering I have a phobia of heights, I can proudly say I think I’ve now made a big step on conquering my fear as I stood on the glass skywalk and had my pictures taken. The view of the skyline was extrondinary and I think the sight of the city line at night would be even better.

After making my way around the top of the skywalk seeing the different views and angles from the peak of Chicago, I made my way back down to ground level to continue the sight seeing.
The Bean in Millennium Park
Not quite sure why this is a historic monument of Chicago but I can only imagine it has something to do with it being odd and random in the heart of the Millenium Park. It was a weird monument as it was like looking at a giant bean shape mirror.

Navy Pier and Chicago River Walk
I went down to the Pier to have an ice cream and walk by the boats and to check the scene out. It was nice and peaceful to just be by the water and to see all the boats.

Day 2
Chicago Science and Industry Museum
This was a cool experience as I got to learn some new things regarding the worlds natural disasters including tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches and tsunamis as well as learning about the american rail network, the NASA missions and the various projects that they are always undertaking and learning the real work that goes into making the PIXAR movies that we all enjoy.
After spending around 3 hours in this museum, I made my way to the shed aquarium and the suurounding areas and had a pleasant and joyful walk through another of Chicago’s well known park.
I decided not to do too much today and overdo it due to the fact that I had to go on an Amtrak train to Denver for 18 hours so after the walking in the parks, I called it a day and spent the evening in the apartment to chill out and prepare for the long journey ahead.
