Day 1:

Arrival into Denver

After attempting to sleep on the overnight Amtrak train, I soon realised I was now in Colorado and when I got off the cool air conditioned train, I found out that it was 22 degrees and it was 8am in the morning. Later I also found out that it would reach 32 degrees later in the day.

One thing I didn't expect was that Colorado people were super friendly to visitors. I was waiting for the bus to take me to my Air Bnb and a friendly gentleman came up to me and had a friendly chat and even offered to give me some money to pay for the bus.

I dropped my bags off at my Air Bnb in Downtown Denver and then headed out to Denver zoo.

Denver Zoo

Denver zoo is known to be one of the best zoo’s in the whole of America and I think I found out in the 4 hours that I was there just why that was the case. They had everything you would need, every animal you could possibly think of and even some baby animals too. I ticked off every single animal which they had on the map, including attending some of the animal shows and talks too so there’s no surprise that I spent the best part of 4 hours looking at animals.

I took the number 19 bus into downtown Denver to do some of the typical sight seeing.

The first place I had to check out was the Leminar Square as it is one of the must see places in Denver. There wasn’t much really going on as it was the day time but during the evening the street is all lit up and they have street parties, people playing music etc.

On the way to the State de capitol, there was a big statue of a blue bear which is supposed to be one of the main features of Denver which people go and take a look at.

State de Capitol

The State de Capitol was stood opposite what seemed to be some form of church and gardens.

Day 2

Walking through Denver

The final part of the day I spent trying to find a barber shop to get myself a haircut and an ice cream parlour. The annoying issue I had today was that either the barbershops or hairdressers were ether fully booked or closed. As for the ice cream parlours, there were a few I wanted to try out however these were also closed for some strange reason.

Day 3

Journey through the Colorado Rockies on a 22 hour train ride

The final day wasn't actually a day in Denver, but it was an early start as I had to board the Number 5 Californian Zephyr to Salt Lake City Utah at 8am. The best part about this whole train ride was the journey through the Colorado Rockies and it was like a day long tour about how the incredible landscapes formed. I don't think that I have ever seen a view so spectacular or beautiful.
