Day 1
My flight to Vegas from San Diego to Vegas McCarran was at 10:00am and took a good 2 hours to get there. After a peaceful sleep and early night in the Kings Inn SD. I was raring and ready for the excitement that I knew Vegas had to bring.
As soon as the plane landed, I could see that the sun was already shining and could feel the heat of the Arizona Desert as I embarked off the plane. Currently at 2:00pm it was already 32 degrees Celsius. What made this even worse was the fact that I had to come out of the airport and to find my Uber driver on an already busy taxi rank. However, this was no normal taxi rank. I had to get in a lift to the second floor and swerve between several people to find my taxi. I shared the taxi with a very friendly American, whilst during the 20-minute car journey, he was eager to tell me about his travels to the Philippines and Thailand and some very explicit details about the women he met over there. The taxi driver and I were very amused by this, but our journey was cut short as his hotel was only a couple of blocks away from the airport.
I arrived at my hotel, where I was met and greeted and guided to the reception desk to check in and receive all the information required to have the most pleasant and enjoyable stay.
My first task was to head to my hotel room, one of the least expensive suites with 2 king-size double beds, a gold plated bathroom and an incredible view of the strip from my bedroom. This was a treat! I had never stayed somewhere so fancy in my life and I wasn’t going to waste any time with my 3 days here in Nevada.

After a freshen up and a change of clothes, waiting for the Nevada lights to settle down (I wish I could say the same for that heat) I made my way down the strip to see what everyone raves about so much when it comes to Vegas and those city lights.
The first stop down the strip was next door to check out the Excalibur hotel- which as an understatement looks like a Disney princess castle which was flashing pink throughout the day and night. The casinos inside had guards dressed up as knights (or I think they were dressed up as they were walking about).

I headed down to see the Bellagio Fountain to see the most impressive water light show you could imagine. Alongside the lit-up hotel, the display was remarkable. Continuing down the street, you then see New York (the Statue of liberty) along with the chocolate museums, shops and all sorts of events going on in and around the Hell’s kitchen restaurant where you can take pictures with the all famous sign and look where they actually film the show, flamingo, Paris etc.
It was about 1am in the morning and after a long day for my eyes, I decided to call it a night and head back to the hotel. On the way back to the hotel, I checked out a few of the bars on the way and from nowhere I heard a Piano with everyone singing. They were singing Journey’s Don’t stop believing because they were in town that night as well as Adam Lambert and Queen. One thing I will remember from Vegas are the numerous feathered up ladies trying to make a living and earn some cash by charging the tourists extortionate fees for a picture with them.
Day 2
Today was the day where I was going to see Neck Deep in the Vegas Bowl Club,
I decided that I would keep the day relatively chilled considering the next day I would have an extremely long day visiting the Grand Canyon so thought I would spend my time around the hotel, check out the pool area, have a swim, have a few cocktails and drinks and some good food.
5:30PM struck and it was time to head down to the Vegas Bowl and it was straight in I went. I think this gig will be up there as one of my favourite gigs I have attended to date. The crowd were incredible, the setlist was fantastic full of old Neck Deep bangers and their new songs too alongside support bands such as Stand Atlantic, WSTR and Trophy Eyes.

Leaving Vegas
In all honesty, I was sad to hand my key card into reception as I could have just stayed in bed all day until the evening until I had to catch my flight back to New York. But I didn’t waste the day, rather than staying indoors, I decided to head out to go and see the almighty Las Vegas sign which was about a mile away from my hotel, the walk was long and tiring because the heat was just unbearable, luckily I was able to stock up on some fresh, cool bottled water to keep me hydrated. I caught some of the hot rays of the Vegas sun ( even though it was 45 degrees Celsius) but I stayed cool by getting refreshments from the pools bar and dipping in and out of the pool every now and then. I grabbed myself something to eat and headed to the airport to catch my evening flight to New York.
