Day 1

Upon arrival into LA, we spent about 45 minutes working out how to get to LA Union station to get to our hotel. The signs weren’t marked up well to help us to understand where we got the Thruway bus to the station.

On arrival to the hotel, the surrounding areas weren’t what I expected LA to be like at all.

It was rugged and run down and there were homeless people everywhere. But the hotel itself was amazing. Even as we walked into the reception area, we were surprised with how fancy and nice the place was.

We headed on upstairs to the “pool party” It wasn’t much of a party, just a 3.5M pool where people were out drinking overpriced cocktails and BBQ food. The cheapest drink was a beer from Mexico which cost $5. It was nice however to just be out in the sun and being sat around the pool area.

Day 2

Hollywood and Warner Bros Studios

We had acquired some foreign friends so they tagged along with us for the day. Hollywood itself is I expected, overhyped and not all that interesting. Just as I was advised before I even planned to go there but all the same, it was still fun.

We made our way down the street of fame, where many celebrities have their names written on a star and why they have it there. I even added my own name to the collection as well as finding some of my favourite movie actors, actresses and singers. We saw the Hollywood sign from afar.

The Warner Brothers tour was super fun! Riding for the best part of 3 hours on a golf cart seeing where they make the likes of The Big Bang Theory, Friends, Harry Potter and Marvel films etc. We even had some pictures and a coffee in the Central Perk Café.

Day 3

I said farewell to Jodie at the Metro Station as she had to head home :'(. But I still had a full day of site seeing to do. I asked our friend called Bersu if she wanted to come with me to Santa Monica Pier as it was one of the most famous piers / beaches in the whole of LA and it is also the end of the Route 66 trail. They have amusement park rides and lovely views however the day was one of the most dull and overcast days during my time in America. Still we got to see a wild sea lion roaming the waters and acting for the many visitors. We then headed back to the hostel and I had an early night as I had to be up early to catch the final train to San Diego.
