Salt Lake City Utah

After the next 18+ hour train through the rocky mountains, I finally arrived in Salt Lake at 11:30PM and had to order an UBER to my hostel. The hostel was rather interesting as it turns out that it used to be an old peoples care home and was then transformed into the hostel it is today.

Day 1

The day was spent walking around downtown Salt Lake, I went through the main shopping center and experienced the true nature and grasped a feel for what the area was like.

The temple museum is the main attraction – a must see and do whilst visiting. Salt Lake is a very religion orientated place as most families are mormons. The temple itself is beautiful and the gardens that surround it are even more spectacular.

I ventured towards the State de Capitol of Utah and followed some form of trail which seemed to lead me to a lake and some old monuments so decided to have a snack and chill out. After all of this which doesn’t seem like a lot, I decided to head back to the hostel for an early night. I decided not to venture into the outskirts of Salt Lake purely because it takes around an hour and a half just to get to other attractions.

Day 2

We headed to In and Out and it was the best fast food place I have ever been to, the food is incredible. We then headed to the local bowling alley for a couple of games. Never have I ever seen someone with such mad curling skills. After bowling, Josh took me to meet his family t their family home and what a huge place it was. It was like walking into a movie as it’s exactly what I expected an American home to be like… Huge garden, swimming pool in the back, large rooms etc.

Then after the hours and hours of fun, I had to endure a delayed Amtrak train which didn’t arrive at Salt Lake until 1:30AM and it didn’t arrive into Emeryville San Francisco until 5:30PM the next day -_-.
